What if it rains before my lesson?

Private & Group lessons; you can liaise directly with your coach or vice versa with regards to your class status during bad weathers. If you feel that the sky is really dark 1 hour prior to your lesson, let the coach know so that you can cancel and reschedule the class.

There will be no charge.

What if it rains during my lesson?
If you are 15 minutes in to your lesson, it will be counted as a full hour. No worries, if there is enough space in a sheltered space near the court, your coach can work with you on some off-court aspects of your game; footwork drills, static exercises, stroke correction, tactical assessment and many more.
How many students will be in a class?

Private Classes: Just you and the coach.

Pair Classes: 2 students to 1 coach.

Group classes: 3 – 6 students to 1 coach.

What if I have to cancel a class?

For private classes:

Yes you can cancel a class if something unexpected pops up. Court fees are still payable by the student.

You have to let us know 1 day (24 hours) prior to the lesson. Last minute cancellations will be considered a full lesson.

For group classes:

Once the class has been scheduled and if you can’t make it for the class, it will be counted as you are absent and there will no make up class for you. The class will carry on.

What do I have to bring for my tennis lesson?

Please bring the following:

  • Sports Attire
  • Sports Shoes (non-marking), preferable tennis shoes as they are better suited for the surface of the court and the required tennis movements
  • Tennis Racket (let us know if you don’t have one and would like advice before purchasing your own, our coaches can bring a spare racket for you to use)
  • Water Bottle

Your tennis coach may advise you to buy other equipment if needed.

Are there any trial classes available?

Yes.

We allow 1 single trial session to let you get a feel of our tennis lessons, after which all students are required to register for our 4hr or 12hr(10% off) packages.

Not to worry, if you feel that the coach assigned to you is not the right fit, do let us know through feedback if there is a a preferred you would like the class to be conducted in. We can also pair you up with a different coach.

Will there be a make up class if I'm unable to attend a scheduled lesson?

For private classes, you are required to inform your instructor at least ONE day before the lesson should you wish to postpone your lesson.

For group classes, there will no make up classes.

Where do you conduct tennis lessons at?

We can conduct tennis lessons all over Singapore.

If you stay at a condo or a private tennis court, we just need you to grant us access to use the tennis court.

You could also choose a public tennis court near you and we will come down to conduct the lesson there.

Regarding group tennis, our schedule of classes is constantly developing with our students, we unfortunately do not have a set schedule that we can post or send to you. Please contact us for the time schedule and to see if there is an opening in a suitable group for you.

When are tennis lessons conducted?

Private lessons; you will have to link up with your tennis coach to arrange a day and time slot that is viable for both of you. Do book your coaches early if you have a specific day and time you want your lessons to be on to avoid disappointment. You can arrange for a fixed day and time every week with your coach so that he/she can give you priority for that slot.

Group classes; our schedule of classes is constantly developing with our students. Please contact us for the time schedule for a group that is suitable for you.

How long will it take for me to be able to play?

The usual gauge we give our bananas is between 12 to 16 lessons. However everyone has a different starting point; prior experience, fitness level, coordination and health.

What we can say is that within 4th-6th lesson you would have been taught all the basic strokes you would need to play a standard game of tennis.

For some individuals, the process may be shorter or longer. Take your time with us, you will definitely enjoy the learning process.

When and how do I make payment for the coaching fees?

Upon registration, Banana Tennis Academy will reserve your slot for 3 days. Upon which Coaching fees are to be paid in full; via internet bank transfer, ATM transfer or cheque. Details of payment will be given to you once we have firmed up the first session booking.

All payment will be through the head office, do not make payment to the coach directly unless we have been notified, this is the prevent money from passing through too many hands and may end up getting lost.

 

Are tennis court fees included in the tennis coaching fees?

Tennis court fees are payable by the student for private and pair lessons.

For group lessons, the court fees are already included in the coaching fees

You will need to sign up for an ActiveSG account, to be able to book public sports council tennis courts.

For Senja-cashew and Kampong Glam tennis Courts, you will have to access OnePA to book the courts there.

If you have access to a condominium tennis court, we can have the lessons at your location as well hence saving court fees =)

Can Banana Tennis Academy help me book a public tennis court?

If you have access to an ActiveSG account, first time registrants get $100 ecredits to book sports facilities, we recommend that you make the bookings yourself to help you save some money.

We do provide the service for booking courts, it is $10/hr. So depending on which package you take, the 4hrs or 12hrs, you will just have to include $40 or $120 respectively for the court fees.
